The House of Representatives has opened investigations into an alleged abuse of procurement process for the 450 billion naira disbursed to the Amnesty Programme since its inception in 2009.
A Former militant in the region deplored the state of the program, threatening militants would return to the creeks if the perceived injustice and alleged fraud going in on the Amnesty office is not checked.
But the Bureau of Public Procurement insists due diligence was followed in all transactions just as a former head of the programme declared support for the lawmakers’ probe
