President Kenyatta charges citizens to pray for peace

Ahead of Kenya’s election, President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on citizens to dedicate their first week in the month of March to pray for peace and stability.

Kenyatta says development can only be achieved in a peaceful environment, hence the need for prayers.

Speaking at the launch of this year’s Lent Campaign, Kenyatta said political leaders ought to preach peace and desist from making remarks that are likely to stir violence in the country.

He noted that, inculcating the culture of non-violence remained a major task for the country’s leadership.
