FG Approves Eight New Private Universities

Image result for Federal Executive Council approves eight new UniversitiesThe Federal Executive Council has approved eight new universities, each of which will be given a three year provisional license.

Government believes this will cater for the demands of the growing number of Nigerian students seeking admission into tertiary institutions

State House Correspondent Tai Amodu reports that the eight new Universities approved are the Anchor University Ayobo, Lagos state, Arthur Jarvis University, Uyo Akwa Ibom state, Clifford University Owerenta, Abia State and the Coal city University Enugu State

Other institutions are the Crown hill University Eyokoren, Kwara state, the Legacy University Okija,Anambra State as well as the Kola Daisi University and Dominican University both located in Ibadan, Oyo State

Council further approved that, in order to ensure standards are maintained, the new universities will be mentored by older universities around them

Council also approved the contract for the completion of the Port Harcourt International airport facility which is regarded as the worst airport in the world

Government also responded to issues leading to the rejection of President Muhammadu Buhari’s loan request by the Senate.

The executive arm of government is now resolved to present a detailed breakdown on how the funds will be expended to the National Assembly and also engage the lawmakers.
